Chris takes on Kilimanjaro challenge

A Condorrat man is set to take on the challenge of a lifetime by scaling the heights of Kilimanjaro for a number of charities.

Chris Hector will take part in a seven day expedition in October with 27 other intrepid adventurers for The Responsible Gambling Trust, which aims to raise over £50,000 to help minimise gambling-related harm in Britain.

Chris Hector, who is an operations director at Ladbrokes, said: “I am joining this expedition as part of the Ladbrokes team and we will be raising funds for the Responsible Gambling Trust, Prostate Cancer UK, Haven House Children’s Hospice and Child Victims of Crime. Our team fundraising target is £40,000 and we are undertaking a number of fundraising activities across the Ladbrokes estate.

“I decided to take part in this expedition to help raise money for some really great causes, to challenge my mental strength and to see what true teamwork is all about. Hopefully, I’ll have plenty of stories to tell my family and friends when I return. ”
