The season of goodwill is well and truly alive in the town thanks to the organisation Kerusso - which operates out of Kilsyth Community Church.

The organisation officially set up a collection of food items which will be distributed throughout the town to help those who need it most.

Lesley Murray, from Queenzieburn, volunteers with Kerusso, and she helped drive the collection which is made up of donations from the congregation of Kilsyth Community Church and Swords bakery in Cumbernauld.

She said: “We know we are in the middle of a recession and many people have been struggling financially, so we wanted to spread some blessings throughout the community.”
