Chairwoman of the Cumbernauld Citizens, Rose Bowie, said: "We will always remember him for his diligent attention to detail when maintaining the accounts, and in his volunteering in the local community."

Andy was also a director of the board of the management committee of the Cumbernauld Housing Partnership, working there for a number of years, adding his own character and concern in the CHP tenants interests.

Rose added: "We at the 'Citizens' and the 'Trust' will certainly miss him for his efforts to help in the name of community spirit.

"Andy will be hard to replace."
