Club director Gordon Nisbet said: “The establishment of the bursary scheme is designed to contribute towards helping the many worthwhile causes and groups in the local areas.”

As a result of Clyde’s successful lottery, the Bully Wee, Scotland’s first fully supporter owned club, were eager to delegate to via the club’s charity, an initiative that reverses the traditional role of the club as solely a beneficiary and illustrating football’s ability to effect change for the greater good.”

Gordon continued, “A proportion of the surplus of the lottery each year will be transferred to the Clyde Community Foundation.”

Anyone wishing to apply should visit the website www.clydefc.co.uk/community/bursary for further guidelines and criteria to complete the necessary application form. The closing date for applications is June 30.
