Clyde take league leaders Elgin down a peg

CLYDE had the result of the weekend in the third division as they knocked Elgin City off the top spot with an emphatic 3-0 win at Borough Briggs.

The Bully Wee were two up after only 26 minutes thanks to a Liam Cusack double, before John Neill put the icing on the cake midway through the second half with a low drive.

Cumbernauld United’s poor form continued as they went down 3-2 at home to Rutherglen Glencairn.

The defeat leaves United bottom of the Super League First Division with only three points from six games.

Meanwhile, Kilsyth Rangers’ fortunes are much the opposite after a 3-1 away victory at East Kilbride Thistle put them within a point of league leaders Ardrossan Winton Rovers.

Goals from McPeake, Waters and Barclay sent Kilsyth home with all three points.
