Community councillors help to send talented young villager Down Under

Talented student Mark O’Neill from Milton of Campsie recently travelled to Australia to compete in the inaugural Australian Undergraduate Business Case Competition.

The Strathclyde University team performed well in Brisbane and were presented with the Spirit Award for their contribution.

Former St Ninian’s High pupil Mark, from Milton of Campsie, secured funding from his old school and Milton of Campsie Community Council to help him on his way.

Mark said: “I am very grateful to both St Ninian’s and the Community Council for their assistance. The overall experience has allowed me to grow and develop both personally and professionally.”

A spokesperson for Milton of Campsie Community Council said: “We are absolutely delighted that Mark had a positive experience and are incredibly passionate about supporting the young people of our village.

“We have an impressive amount of of talented young people in our village and we’ll always do all we can to encourage and support them to fully realise their potential.”
