Concern for missing man

AN APPEAL has been launched to help find an elderly man who was last seen close to a music festival which was held near Kilsyth.

Tom Robb was reported missing at around 7pm on Saturday, August 25, after he failed to return home to his farm in the Carron Valley in Stirling.

The 74-year-old’s last confirmed sighting was around 4.30pm at Duncarron Fort in the Carron Valley where the Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival was being held.

A group of walkers also spotted him a short time earlier in the Meikle Bin area.

Tom is 5’ 10” tall and he has balding grey hair. He is of a medium build and was last seen wearing a two-tone grey jumper and blue trousers.

Inspector Charlie Mitchell, of Central Scotland Police, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Tom as the weather has deteriorated and he is not properly dressed for the cold and wet.

“Tom is well known in the Carron Valley area and we have a lot of local people with knowledge of the area and terrain helping us search for him.
