Concern over footpaths

NORTH Lanarkshire Council’s own staff are unconvinced walking routes between Abronhill and Cumbernauld High School are safe, according to the area’s MSP.

The SNP’s Jamie Hepburn has released a Freedom of Information Request from a constituent. This shows that the route assessment had to be taken by two staff “due to the footpaths being remote from the road and having limited overlooking properties”. Another disclosed email, regarding the timescale for the assessment, asks: “Will it be completed before 15th? Weather permitted?”
