Contract for Cumbernauld office block goes to environmentally friendly local firm

Council office block Fleming House will have its windows replaced by a local firm who won a contract totalling £800,000 to do the job.

Staff from Castlecary-based CMS Enviro Systems will undertake the work, after providing the most competitive terms via a tendering process.

The project is expected to take roughly six months as aluminium ‘swing’ windows are installed and current curtain walling is replaced.

The building houses a host of council departments and the One Stop Shop.

Stephen Anderson of CMS said: “We are delighted to be involved because Fleming House is an important local landmark and our participation contributes to our business success, in continuing to provide more local jobs.

“Our finished products are designed to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings during their lifetime, including being recyclable at the end.”
