Scottish Water confirmed that work is being carried out at pumping stations at Antonine Road and Tintock Place.

A spokesman for Scottish Water said: “We are moving forward with a national programme of upgrades to pumping stations that no longer meet the modern requirements in terms of environmental performance. This work, alongside the associated work in upgrading the waste water network where required lowers flooding and pollution risk for communities like Dullatur and ensures that Scottish Water meets strict environmental regulations laid down by SEPA.”

The work has been welcomed by Councillor Alan Masterton, who said: “I know people in Dullatur have been increasingly frustrated over the length of time they have had to deal with these unpleasant issues before Scottish Water embarked on their recent significant programme of work.

“Hopefully the current upgrade of the two unadopted pumping stations in Dullatur into the Scottish Water network should deliver an infrastructure better able to cope and withstand the frequent breakdowns which have been a factor recently.

Councillor Masterton also said a full CCTV survey was undertaken of much of the area underneath Dullatur which showed a number of blockages and roots encroaching, and he is assured these will be fixed.
