BBC Scotland revealed that in the second series Bob has turned his back on politics and is back on the cheeseburger van that represents his golden days.

Bob’s sidekick Frank (Johnatan Watson) remains faithfully by Bob’s side, flipping burgers and enjoying the title of Director of Sauces

The BBC Scotland crew spent four days filming interior shots at the New Town Hall’s Bron Chambers, while based at Broadwood.

Series producer Owen Bell said: “‘Bob’s been having a tremendous time in Cumbernauld and we hope readers will tune in later this year.”

Adam Smith, the community activist who lobbied the Scottish Parliament to promote the idea of establishing a permanent film and television studio in Cumbernauld, was delighted to learn the BBC were working in the town.

He said:“The filming of this BBC comedy in Cumbernauld, along with the ongoing development of Outlander, shows we have the infrastructure and amenities to host big-budget TV and film productions, and I look forward to seeing many more filming in the town in the years to come”.

Cumbernauld is one of five sites currently shortlisted for a permanent studio.
