Boys charged with disorder in Kilsyth

Police had to take two 14-year-old boys home and charge them in front of their families after an incident in the town's Market Street on Saturday (February 20)

The pair were seen drinking alcohol around 8pm and when they were approached by police one of the boys became threatening and abusive to the He was then arrested -but resisted arrest and assaulted one of the officers. Both the boys -who are local - were charged with disorder offences.

Meanwhile it emerged that a 16-year-old boy was a victim of crime in Cumbernauld that evening. He was threatened with violence by three adult males - and robbed of his phone in an underpass in Dowanfield Road around 7.30pm. Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
