Daughter calls for volunteers to continue search for Thomas Lamb

The daughter of missing Abronhill pensioner Thomas Lamb is urging local residents to keep searching for her father.

Thomas (79) vanished on Saturday, July 2, two days after the funeral of his wife.

He was last seen getting off a Stagecoach X25 bus on Moss Road, not far from Oak Road, at 6.23pm. He had boarded the bus 13 minutes earlier at Cumbernauld Town Centre.

Margaret Ann Lamb (43), who lives in Glasgow, said: “The number of people getting in touch and with me on social media has been fantastic and lots of volunteers are still out every night, spending hours looking for my father.

“Some people have been given the idea that the family have called off the search but I want people to know it is still very much ongoing and just because search parties are no longer meeting at St Lucy’s Chapel that doesn’t mean we’ve given up.

“It just means that we’d like people to do their own thing and keep looking for my dad while they’re out and about, so long as they are careful and are not alone. This way we’ll cover a bigger area. Dog walkers have been changing their routes each walk, for example.”

“When you look at it on maps it’s amazing how big Abronhill is and you hear a lot about places being searched a hundred times before the missing person is found.

“This disappearance is so hard to explain. My two daughters and I went out with Mum and Dad all the time.”

Anyone who can help the investigation is asked to contact the police on 101.
