Drivers arrested in Bellshill

A 26-year-old female driver has been arrested in Bellshill - after allegedly taking to the wheel under the influence of drugs.

Officers stopped her car at 12.20am in Calder Road on Saturday (December 12) -and she subsequently failed a roadside drug test.

Officers have confirmed that another driver was arrested the following day in the town’s Crofthead Crescent.

This was after concerns were raised about a male driver in his car around 11.45am.

On arrival, officers found him slumped in the driver’s seat. The 25 year old male driver was arrested for alleged road traffic offences.
