Drugs seized from Cumbernauld home

A house in Cumbernauld was searched for drugs on Tuesday (November 10) and officers did not leave the property empty-handed.

Cumbernauld police confirmed that they found approximately 19,000 tablets believed to be Class C drugs, from the address in Kildrum’s Tarbolton Road around 10am.

The 26-year-old who is linked to this property was not present at the point where the pills were discovered.

However, it has since been confirmed that he has been traced - and that further steps have been taken against him because he was found to be in alleged possession of a knife at the time.

A police spokesperson confirmed: “The male has been held in custody charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and possession of a knife in a public place.”

A report on this incident has been sent to the fiscal.
