Man jailed after police found drugs in his car

A man has been jailed for drugs offences committed in the Cumbernauld area.

Ian George Glatley, 47, has been sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment after being caught with a supply of class A and B drugs. He was arrested on August 5 last year after officers searched his car and found cocaine and cannabis worth around £15,000.

He pled guilty at last month and was sentenced at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 21.

Detective Inspector Graeme Naysmith said: “Ian George Glately was caught transporting a significant quantity of drugs which undoubtedly were intended for distribution within our communities.
“I hope this outcome sends a clear message to others concerned in the supply of controlled drugs that our officers will do everything they can to disrupt their criminal activities and bring them to justice.
