Nursery shut after “significant” amount of staff told to self-isolate

An Abronhill nursery has had to close for the duration of this week after a “significant” amount of staff were required to self-isolate.

Education bosses told parents that the nursery at St Lucy’s Primary could not operate from Monday (October 19) - after it emerged that the council could not fulfill its statutory duties to provide adequate staff to child ratios.
The council apologised to parents but said it had “no other option.” but to shut -amidst an unconfirmed report that “at least two” children tested positive first - only for four members of staff to follow.

The nursery is expected to re-open next Monday (October 26)
