They were then threatened with violence by the two males in the property who were alleged to be in possession of knives.

Officers forced entry to the building and arrested two males, aged 17 and 18.

Just 10 minutes later there was to be another callout to Condorrat’s Morar Drive.

When officers arrived they discovered an 18-year-old male who was found to be in a possession of a knife.

But the matter did not end there.

For when he was subject to a further search of his person, he was also found to be in possession of a small amount of controlled drugs.

He was then arrested and taken into custody.

This would not however be the last incident that local police would have to attend to involving knives in 2021 to-date after it emerged that there had been a further arrest in Kilsyth.

Police were called to a disturbance around 4.30am on Sunday, January 3 in the town’s Barrwood Road.

On their arrival they observed a 25- year -old male who was recognised by police to be breaching his court-imposed curfew to remain within his home address between 5pm and 7am daily.

The male was arrested and searched at which time he was found to be in possession of the knife.
