Serious assault in Kilsyth and drugs raid in Abronhill

Police have made an arrest following a serious assault in a common close in the early hours of this morning(August 17) in Kilsyth.

Officers were called out at 2am to the block on Northfield Road where a 28-year-old man was found to have sustained serious injuries.

The scene was cordoned off as scenes of crime officers moved in.

It was confirmed this morning that a 31-year-old male had been arrested.

His victim’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Enquiries into this incident continue and anyone with further information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number NC02200820.

Meanwhile, it emerged that an unrelated drugs raid in Abronhill has led to two arrests .

This took place early on Friday and saw a 33 year-old female and a 45 year-old man arrested in Cedar Road.

Class A and Class C drugs were seized in the process.

The pair were arrested and charged with being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
