Serious assaults in Abronhill and Kilsyth

A dispute in an Abronhill home resulted in a man being stabbed - and the arrest of a teenager.

The incident took place on Saturday April 11 in Cedar Road around 8.15pm

On their arrival, police gave chase to an 18-year-old suspect.

He was apprehended and arrested for serious assault and possession of a knife in a public place. The victim received hospital treatment prior to being released.

It has also emerged that Kilsyth too has been the scene of a serious assault - which took place on Good Friday.

Officers received reports that a 47-year old male had been attacked in Barrie Place around 10.30pm.

Police have now confirmed that the man has suffered a serious head injury.

A 44-year-old male was traced and susequently arrested.

Meanwhile a 53-year-old male driver was arrested in Kilsyth’s Glasgow Road on Tuesday (April 14) at 4.30am after being found with two offensive weapons,

He also fell foul of new rules relating to the Coronavirus.

Reports on all these incidents have been sent to the procurator fiscal.
