Thieves strike again in Abronhill as works vans are broken into

Cumbernauld police are warning van owners that thieves are out and about again after two vehicles were plundered in Abronhill.

And in the case of the two victims involved, it was not the first time either.

The thefts took place overnight on Tuesday, July 21 in Birch Road and Lime Crescent.

The vans involved were both of the Citroen Dispatch brand and differed only in colour.

The thieves took a quantity of power tools from each of the van - and the owners told police that they were specifically targeted because thieves were aware that they had the tools of their trade in the van, from the previous occasions.

The Abronhill area has been a prime site for this kind of crime in recent years
