Thugs attacked 66-year-old man in Cumbernauld

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in a wooded part of Cumbernauld last Wednesday (February 12)

The incident happened on Stirling Road, near to a wooded area, around 1.15pm

The victim was approached by two men who shouted abuse before throwing a stone at the victim who suffered a minor injury to his face.

Both suspects are described as early 20s, wearing dark clothing with snoods and baseball caps on.

They ran off in the direction of Palacerigg Golf Club.

Sergeant Christopher O’Neill, of Cumbernauld Police Station, said: “We have carried out initial enquiries and are now appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed this to contact us.
