Violent incident in Cumbernauld Village with crowbar has led to arrests

Police confirmed that they have made three arrests after violence flared at a house in Cumbernauld Village on Sunday, February 21

Police were called in around 9.30am amidst fears about an ongoing disturbance in Wigtoun Place.

When officers arrived, it emerged that three males who are aged 48,39 and 16 were fighting – and that one of the men involved was in alleged possession of a crowbar.

All three men were arrested and charged with engaging in a disturbance and one of the men faces an additional charge in regard to alleged possession of an offensive weapon.

One of the males also required hospital treatment at Monklands for a minor facial injury. A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
