A HISTORIC church has seen its garden attacked by vandals - who have stolen and damaged priceless items which have provided spiritual inspiration to worshippers for generations.

A HISTORIC church has seen its garden attacked by vandals - who have stolen and damaged priceless items which have provided spiritual inspiration to worshippers for generations.

Holy Cross Church in Croy was targeted overnight last Thursday (June 7). Police have confirmed that a much-loved figurine of Christ has been snatched from the exterior of the chapel.

The culprits dislodged a variety of statues.

Sickeningly, a cross was also damaged as the louts did their worst.
