Cumbernauld police have confirmed that a sub post office was broken into after thieves succeeded in disabling a security alarm.
Police say the incident occurred at Croy’s post office in Constarry Road at some point between 2.20am on Tuesday, October 4 and 2.25am on Wednesday, October 5.
The thieves were able to enter the premises undisturbed and were able to plunder the shop.
And they were able to make a clean getaway with a number of items from the post office.
Enquiries into the break-in are continining.
