Croy station plan controversy
THE planned changes to Croy Station were the focus for discussion at a public meeting.
And some local resistance to the proposals has emerged.
Network Rail, the organisation in charge of Scotland’s railway infrastructure, organised the event in Croy Miners’ Welfare.
Similar meetings are being held around the country to discuss the EGIP (Edinburgh - Glasgow Improvements Programme), which would see Croy-Edinburgh services upped to six per hour, a new line constructed at Croy Station and electrification of the Glasgow-Cumbernauld route.

Hide AdHowever local people are concerned about the project’s proximity to their homes, and many of those who attended the public meeting claimed the benefits would do little to improve their lives.
