The squadron are holding an anniversary reunion to celebrate their achievements and they are now appealing for members old and new to get involved.

Flight Lieutenant Stevie Cairns said: “On October 8 the squadron will hold a reunion and anniversary night, organised by the squadron’s own Civilian Committee, made up of parents and staff members’ spouses, to remember the past 40 years and to celebrate the achievements of the squadron.

“The celebration will be held for ex-staff and cadets and their partners in the TA Centre in Glencryan Road to allow people to catch up on old times.

“This will be hosted with the assistance of the local Royal Engineers TA unit and will also include invited dignitaries.”

He added: “The squadron headquarters will also be open where cadets will conduct guided tours for anyone wishing to take a trip down memory lane.”

Tickets for the October 8 event are on sale and are limited to 100 at £5 each.

Any former staff members or cadets who wish to attend the event are asked to contact the squadron on 01236 451070 on Monday’s and Thursday evenings between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
