Mr Hepburn said: “The Scottish Living Wage is one of the most effective tools we have to hand in combating in-work poverty, which affects 440,000 people across the country.

“I urge all employers to think about making this small increase to pay in order to make a huge difference to lives of ordinary individuals.”

Peter Kelly of the Poverty Alliance added: “I am pleased that Jamie Hepburn is supporting the Scottish Living Wage campaign and hope that more employers in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth will follow.”
