BUDDING movie-makers in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth areas are being urged to submit their productions to a top film festival.

Young people aged under 19 have until August 31 to get their entries in to the Co-Operative Film Festival.

And they could even see their film premiered on the silver screen in Manchester this November!

Entries should be no more than six minutes long, and will be judged by a panel of film and media professionals.

Festival organiser Keela Walsh, The Co-operative Group’s National Projects Assistant, said: “This major national film festival is a great opportunity for young people to showcase their talents and we urge both experienced movie-makers and those who have never made a film before to give it a go.”

In the run-up to the festival, the latest news can be found on the Festival website at, on our Facebook page or via Twitter by following @coopfilmfest.

Films can be entered online – see the website for further details.
