Cumbernauld and Kilsyth women called up for Strathclyde race

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth women are being urged to take part in the local wing of the Women’s Running 10k Race Series next month.

The women’s only 10K race series has been making its way across the UK and has already seen over 3,000 runners take part.

Christina Macdonald, editor of Women’s Running magazine, said: “We are so excited that our next event is going to be at Strathcylde Country Park where so much sporting success has taken place this year.

“We think that the runners will be inspired to push that bit harder knowing that their sporting heroes competed there.

“We are very much looking forward to the race next month and we can’t wait to meet all of the women taking part.”

The event is said to be perfect for runners of all abilities with the fast, flat course that takes runners on a tour of the woodlands of Strathclyde Country Park.

There will be a team of experienced and friendly Women’s Running pacers to help runners achieve their race day goals – whether it’s to set a new personal best or just to finish the run – the team will be there supporting runners every step of the way to achieving either sub 50 minutes, 55 minutes, 60 minutes or 70 minutes.

The race experience also includes a warm up, led by an expert from Women’s Running Magazine, a technical t-shirt, and a high quality drawstring goody bag full of goodies worth over £30 including a medal for every finisher.

Entries cost £26, and full details are at www.wr10k.co.uk.
