Cumbernauld charity shop's computer stolen

CALLOUS thieves have stolen a laptop computer from a charity shop.The Supporting Children charity shop, in Forth Walk, Cumbernauld, was targeted last Tuesday (June 1) at lunchtime.

The laptop is worth around 760. Its owner is volunteer worker Craig MacDonald, of Ashiestiel Court.

He designs customised items such as cards and mousemats with the laptop - and donates all proceeds to the charity.

He said: "I normally put the computer away, but I was running late to go out for lunch with my dad and a pal. When I got back it was gone."

Craig added: "The computer has everything on it I need to work in the shop, as well as my short stories and poems."

Police are investigating the theft, but may have something of a head start given that it differs from laptops made for the British market.

Craig bought the Hewlett Packard DV6 model online from America. It has a different keyboard, with no sign.
