TCA Local will be lighting up Tay Walk with a little help from Dora the Explorer, and fun events are planned in the Antonine Shopping Centre and Cumbernauld Shopping Centre.
In Tay Walk the man in red, Santa himself, will be there and hoping people will join him for a Christmas singalong, with the fun beginning at 3.30 p.m., with words displayed karaoke-style on a big screen. The lights switch on will be around 4.15 p.m.
Town Centre co-ordinator Jack Duffy said: ‘‘With a mix of high street names and
independent businesses, Cumbernauld Town Centre is the ideal place to pick up affordable gifts for all the family this Christmas.’’
In the Antonine Shopping Centre there’s a special satellite link to the North Pole before Santa turned up to turn the lights on at 4 p.m. with help from Miss European, Deone Robertson.
Other guets at the Antonine fun day include the Ice King stilt walker and the Antonine Guard, with face painting and magic tricks on offer, and live music from Ocean of You.
