Cumbernauld Fire Station round-up

CUMBERNAULD fighters had to deal with vandalism in Carbrain and are also warning locals to take care with their festive lights.

ON Thursday, December 27, firefighters were called out to attend two incidents in Glenhove Road. A phone box had been set alight by vandals and a pile of papers were also burning in a building near that location. The fires were quickly extinguished.

Cumbernauld Fire Station also warn people to take care with their Christmas lights following a couple of minor incidents. “We have had two calls but on both occasions the fires were out before we got there,” said a spokesman. “However this sort of thing is a reminder that people need to be careful with any extra electrical devices such as Christmas lights, and make sure these are switched off at night.”
