Cumbernauld firm lands £2 million contract

A CUMBERNAULD firm has given the local economy a boost after it was awarded a £2 million contract to refurbish homes in Glasgow.

Just weeks after opening a new branch in Aberdeen, Blairlinn-based CMS Enviro Systems Ltd has sealed the deal to supply energy-efficient PVCu windows and doors to Thistle Housing Association in Toryglen.

The mammoth contract will take two years to complete.

In a move which beefs up the firm’s green credentials, workers will take away the extracted doors and windows for recycling at their specially designated centre in Fife.

Local MP Jamie Hepburn told the News and Chronicle he was pleased to see the company doing so well.

He added: “Moving to a low carbon economy is a key priority for the Scottish Government and I am delighted to see a local employer making such an active contribution to this strategy.’’
