Cumbernauld High School maths team through to national competition final

MATHS wizards at Cumbernauld High School beat off talented opposition from the other 23 schools in North Lanarkshire to take first place in the North Lanarkshire heat of the Scottish Mathematical Council’s Enterprising Mathematics Competition.

The winning team – Garath McSharry, Rachel Steven, Anna Cadman and Stuart Boyce – are seen being presented with their trophy by Mr Laurie Byrne, head teacher of St Maurice’s High School, Cumbernauld.

The Cumbernauld High team will now go on to the national final, which is set to be held in Glasgow later this year.
