Cumbernauld hotel celebrates top award

staff at Cumbernauld’s Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort are celebrating this week.

The facility was one of only two venues in Scotland to be awarded the highly acclaimed ‘VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation’ by BDRC Continental, dubbed the UK’s largest independent market research agency.

The accreditation, which covers the period July 2010 to June 2011, usesa business system, “Net Promoter”, to measure the conference customer service experience. It also recognises that word of mouth is the biggest influencer when choosing a venue.

Every week conference and meeting venues and hotels across the UK are assessed in an independent survey of event organisers. Only venues that consistently achieve a Net Promoter score of 70 or above are awarded gold standard accreditation.

Westerwood manager Richard Mayne said: “This is one of the most significant awards we can receive.

“It is based on independent customer feedback and is testimony to the success that the team here at the Westerwood have had in providing guests with consistently excellent customer service.

“We take great pride in going that extra mile for all of our guests and are delighted that customers have given such positive feedback.”

The Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort, part of the QHotels group, is one of only 19 venues in the UK to attain this score and in Scotland only one other venue has achieved such a high level of customer satisfaction feedback.

James Bland of BDRC Continental, said: “To achieve the VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation a venue must deliver consistently excellent service to meeting and event groups.

“If customers are prepared to endorse your hotel by recommending it personally, you must have been providing them with a first class experience and this accolade recognises the hard work undertaken at The Westerwood Hotel and QHotels as a whole.”
