Cumbernauld lad (4) distraught as bike is stolen

A DISAPPOINTED mum Is appealing for the return of her young son’s bike after it was stolen from his nursery.

Julie MacKenzie made the request after her four-year-old son Lewis MacKenzie had his prized possession pinched from St Andrews Primary School Nursery car park some time last Wednesday.

The toddler and his mum had brought the bike to school on Wednesday morning but left it with other pupils’ bikes after a downpour of rain in the afternoon prevented young Lewis from taking it home.

However, when the family returned to the nursery the following day, it was gone.

The child’s bike has a distinctive red and green Eddie Stobart colour pattern and design with stabilisers. It is believed the bike was stolen some point between 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 21 and 1pm the following day.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or who may have seen a bike matching this description, to contact them as soon as possible on 01236 503900.
