Cumbernauld pub is temporarily shut

Owner John Sneddon admitted that the pub which was previously known as The Masonic Arm has not been trading at full strength for some time.

The pub hit the headlines several months ago after it hosted an event by extreme right-wing group Britain First. Mr Sneddon said he was unaware of the booking but some locals said they would boycott the pub.

Mr Sneddon believes that most of his trade has gone to Condorrat Social Club and discount chain Wetherspoons.

The pub is expected to come under new management within the same pub group chain within the week.
