Cumbernauld woman arrested after teatime scene in Carbrain

Terrified neighbours summoned police after an alleged disturbance kicked off in Craigieburn Road on Thursday, September 18 at 5pm.

Officers received a high number of calls after locals feared for the personal safety of a male resident.

It is claimed that the incident started after a 37 year female crossed from Stoneylee Road in a rage.

She then entered the home of a 46-year-old male to take issue with him. Police say that they are unsure what sparked this row.

Alarmed locals reported the sound of a house being ‘trashed’ as she vented her spleen

It is also claimed that the female mounted a vicious attack on the man, who had to be taken to hospital.

Police have stressed that they are duty-bound to investigate claims that the woman was herself assaulted.

She has since been charged with assault, breach of the peace and vandalism.

A report on this incident has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
