Cumbernauld youths head to Holyrood

Young people got a taste of politics during a visit to Holyrood this summer.

The members of North Lanarkshire Youth Council, including Ivory Bennett, Rhianne Carroll and Juniad Ashraf from Cumbernauld, headed to the Scottish Parliament as part of a project to tell other young people what they can do about issues that matter to them.

The group were invited to First Ministers Questions and they had the opportunity to meet and talk with a number of local MSPs.

Ivory Bennett said: “It was one of the most exciting, dynamic events I have ever been to and seeing so many young people involved in the local communities sharing their ideas nationally was great to be part of.”
