The hard working organisers of Cumbernauld Gala Day have set the date for this year's extravaganza - Saturday, June 17.

Cumbernauld Community Forum will put the highlight of the town’s social calendar to the top of the agenda when it holds its next meeting on Tuesday March 14.

Chairman Billy Lees said: “This is a rally call to our members - we need the help of everyone to try and make this day a success.

“This year we will be fundraising for the British Transplant Games.”

Mr Lees is hoping for a good turnout at next week’s meeting at the Cumbernauld campus of New College Lanarkshire at 7pm.
