Diggerset onfire in Kilsyth

Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused after an excavator was set on fire in Kilsyth.

The digging device was set on fire while it was parked close to St Patrick’s Primary School on Backbrae Street at around 10.45pm on Sunday, November 24.

Police say a local resident spotted the fire and then contacted the emergency services.

Police also say it is believed that the damage will run into thousands of pounds.

Meanwhile, vandals smashed three windows at Kilsyth Primary School sometime between 9am on Saturday, November 23, and 7am the next day. The damage was discovered by the school janitor.
