'Dirty' diesel fuels row
Cumbernauld man Ian Reid is among a number of drivers, including one of the store's own employees, who claim that diesel bought in Asda's filling station caused a four figure sum worth of damage to their cars.
Some of those affected claim that staff at the Cumbernauld branch afforded them little assistance, despite the scale of damage allegedly caused by a product from the store.

Hide AdThe store was exonerated after laboratory testing but North Lanarkshire trading standards officers say that the result may not be conclusive.
There have since been claims that staff embarked on a hasty clean-up job of pipes before the squad of training standards officers arrived, making for an uncharacteristically cleaner sample. It has also been pointed out that routine cleaning of the pumps might have led to trading standards taking a cleaner sample.
