Disabled man critcises management of care service

A SEVERELY disabled man from Kilsyth has hit out at what he sees as the shambolic mismanagement of North Lanarkshire Council’s social work service.

Nick Kilmurry says he has been left without carers on numerous occasions in recent months – but no one seems to be able to tell him why.

He said: “The provision of the evening carers has been a complete shambles.

“I’ve heard there are 22 workers off in Kilsyth and on occasions in the evening they have not turned up.”

The council could not comment on Nick’s case but an official has pledged to contact him about his concerns.
