Kilsyth & District Probus Club

PRESIDENT Bill Gracie welcomed 31 members to the meeting last week. The speaker was Gordon MacInally from Bishopbriggs Probus Club, who spoke on his life in sales with various firms involved in the production of engineering bearings. In a most interesting talk, Gordon explained the many technical problems encountered in the construction of specialised bearings - from the largest used in turbines and in steel production to the smallest used by scientific instrument makers and the defence industry. After taking early retirement, Gordon immersed himself in study and qualified as a Reader within the Church of Scotland. At present he is locum in Kilsyth Anderson Church.

THE next meeting of Probus will be on June 15 with the annual visit, this year to Rosslyn Chapel, Edinburgh. The following meeting on June 29 will be on Footballing Sojourns from Jim Storrie - always a popular speaker.
