Dullatur man launches travel website

A TRAVEL website which hosts independent reviews written by travellers has been launched by a Dullatur man.

Toowist had its official launch on Monday, July 2, and is the brainchild of Stephen Whitelaw.

The 49-year-old, who lives in Prospect Road, says the website has the world’s biggest travel guide with almost 30,000 independent reviews.

The site boosts having the most extensive library of travel guides, written for travellers by travellers.

Stephen, who describes himself as a Scottish web futurist, said: “Toowist is unique as it offers more destination guides than any other site. Anyone can sign up to Toowist and write a guide – meaning we offer an impartial and unbiased review of the world.

“Our guides map out every corner of the planet from Antarctica to Zimbabwe, making our travel writers some of the most intrepid in the world.”

Stephen set up his site to deal with the increase in online travel research by holidaymakers.

Stephen said: “Tourists are much savvier than they were five to ten years ago – online research allows holiday makers to instantly find the most up-to-date information. This has created an increased demand for independent travel reviews.”
