I’ve barely discarded my sun block, and so far have not needed to dig my winter coat out, so you will understand how dispirited I felt when a shop I was in had a full Christmas display up this week.
At the risk of showing my age, it wasn’t like that in my day. Then you didn’t get Christmas decorations out until Bonfire Night was passed, and you certainly didn’t put them up before December.

Hide AdEaster Eggs didn’t go on display until at least Valentine’s Day, and for each of the festive holidays the sales periods was
remarkably short.
My one exception would be for school uniforms, which should be readily available in all sizes all year round - kids do grow you know!
