Kindness of Kilsyth pubgoers

Punters at a popular watering hole at the heart of Kilsyth have raised the impressive sum of £2133 for Strathcarron Hospice.

The Scarecrow in Main Street has been staging a series of different fundraising events for several months now.

This has seen some drinkers put their shaving kit away for Novembeard - and setting aside part of Christmas day to play the Pat Christie Memorial Pool Tournament.

Businesses like the Cross Butchers, Visage Beauty and R&A Cant and Sons also donated raffle prizes to the fundraiser.

A second charity has benefitted also after,£275 was raised for specialist Chest, Heart and Stroke care.

Touchingly this was in memory of a colleague at The Scarecrow, Jennifer Conway who sadly passed away.

A pub spokesperson said: “Thanks to all who had any input in these events.”
