‘Eyesore’ site ripe for re-development

THe remnants of the former Kildrum Primary School have now been de-listed by Historic Scotland.

The former school’s status as a category “B” listed building was officially revoked in December, meaning owners North Lanarkshire Council will now be able to sell the site for re-development.

The former school was mostly demolished in 2005 following a fire, with only the nursery remaining intact. North Lanarkshire Council recently attempted to sell the site for £50,000 but met no interest.
