Farmers’ market is back in town

CUMBERNAULD’S very own market is back - and will be setting out its stall again on Saturday (February 11)

The market was started on an experimental basis last year down at Recap in Lenziemill’s Tannoch Drive - and that is where Saturday’s event will take place.

Those who fear the cold can be assured that the market will take place indoors - and will feature goodies like home made bread, fresh butcher meat plus vegetables and eggs from Abronhill.

Organiser Vince Murray said: “Added to these there will be other fairly regular folk such as the lovely ladies from Millport with their sweets and our equally lovely florist plus the charming jewellers with their hand-made items at good prices.

“For the growing group of Polish immigrants we will have some native items and another gent will provide a taste of the exotic with some simple delicatessan items,” he added.

Market-goers will also be able to visit Recap’s shop with its huge range of quality furniture, electrics, pictures, mirrors and bric–a–brac. The market will be held from 10am to 4pm.
